Elearning Resources & News

WOW!! I've spent the last hour surfing elearning sites...some pretty boring/bland stuff out there...I guess it is like anything on the Internet...a lot of garbage, and a few good sites.

Much of what exists on the Internet is geared to corporate elearning. Online learning is driven by corporate America, and resources available for a corporate instructor are more developed than resources available for a college/university instructor. The biggest thing missing is solid learning methodology...after all, when you're trying to make money, you'll do what is most cost effective, not what is most learning effective - or does this problem also exist in colleges/universities...:-).

In spite of my whining...I came across one interesting resource: (Elearning) - click the Pros and Cons button under the "Future of elearning". This article/site gives a fairly honest evaluation of online learning's pros and cons...particularly, the sections on drop out rates, retention levels, and "no significant difference". While the article itself isn't phenomenal, it has many good links to follow. The Glossary, however, is spectacular...it incorporates both educational and technology terms.

By the way...I'm looking for feedback on this section of RROC...what do you want to see here? Any questions? Comments?
