Copyright Impact on Libraries via The Shifted Librarian
Quote: "As the main voice speaking on copyright on behalf of the international library and information profession as well as our users in education, business and industry, the health sector, the voluntary and public sectors, IFLA believes that the economic rights of information providers must be balanced with society’s need to gain access to knowledge. IFLA is concerned that the increased use of licensing and technological protection is distorting the balance toward commercial interests and away from information users. This trend affects information users everywhere, but it has an even greater effect on those in developing countries."

Brainstorming
Great resource page on brainstorms (sent by Howard R. Engel). Spent a few minutes skimming the site...but a person could easily spend hours reviewing concepts and resources...

Back to the User: Creating User-Focused Websites
Quote: "Since our earliest interviews with Web users, enormous progress has been made in shaping sites that inform, engage and build lasting customer relationships. Imagine searching for information without Google; finding a rare collectible without eBay, figuring out what ails you (at 3 A.M.) without WebMD, or getting the news you want delivered to your desktop without your favorite online newspaper.
Comment: User design in elearning often focuses on the experience of the learner (as it should)...but their is one area of "user-design" that's ignored. Organizations need to give extensive thought to the user-experience of the instructor...in terms of content development (process and quality). If I was to rate the current user experience of most instructors/trainers, I would rate it as "it sucks". Very little thought has been given to this...
